Jezebel's Lie

Image
Human society and institutions are part of Babylon’s domain, but God is summoning His children to separate from her while there is time . ‘Come out from her and be separate, and do not touch the unholy thing!’ This is the command of Scripture to the followers of Jesus Christ, to leave the Great Whore, Babylon, not to rush into the defiled city and embrace her evil ways. Without holiness, we will never see the Lord!

Le mensonge de Jézabel

Image

Babylon Unveiled

Image
The interpreting angel exposes Babylon’s true nature – She is a seductive whore stained with the blood of martyrs . Chapter 17 of Revelation presents the reader with an impressive female figure, “ Babylon, the Great City .” Her outward appearance is so appealing that even John is mesmerized by her, at least, for the moment (“ I was astonished when I beheld her, with great astonishment! ”). Yet the interpreting angel identifies her as a “ whore ” and links her to the violent deaths of the “ witnesses ” of Jesus.

The Abyss

When it is first introduced, “ smoke ” and locust-like creatures are seen ascending from the “Abyss” to torment the “ inhabitants of the earth .” It is the deep pit from which satanic forces are seen ascending to wreak havoc on the Earth, and especially to wage war against the “ saints .” It is also the “prison” where demonic forces are imprisoned until their appointed time when they will attempt to execute their malevolent plans to destroy God’s people.

Thyatira

In the letter to the “ messenger ” in Thyatira, a structural change occurs. In the first three letters, the call to heed the Spirit’s voice preceded the promises to overcomers. From this point forward, it follows the promises and concludes each letter. This serves to emphasize the need to “ hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches ” through the seven letters sent by the risen Son of Man.
